Imagine what they could’ve scored in 6 OTs

nelsonIf you’re going to be eliminated from playoff contention with more than 15 games remaining in the regular season, you might as well be eliminated in embarrassingly atrocious fashion. Am I right? The Warriors apparently think so. Phoenix routed Golden State 154-130, shooting 62 percent from the field and setting an NBA season-high for points in the process. Evidently eager to get a headstart breaking down their NCAA tournament brackets, Nellie and Stephen Jackson were ejected with less than 5 minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Speaking of brackets, Tim Kawakami likes Memphis to win it all, Cal plays Maryland around noon on Thursday, and St. Mary’s has to settle for the NIT — as a 2 seed. The women’s brackets will be revealed tonight and Stanford is eying a No. 1 seed after rolling over USC in the Pac-10 title game.

On the same night that the Warriors were eliminated from the playoffs, the Sharks locked up their spot in the postseason — phew! — with a 1-0 win over the Ducks. The shutout was Nabby’s sixth of the season.

San Jose is Giants territory. Bud Selig says so. Stay away, A’s. Or else! Perhaps the best solution to this whole mess is for the Giants and A’s to collude. Bay Bridge Baseball imagines what the lineup and rotation for the Giathletics might look like.
