Mike Singletary’s mountain of pain will break you

dirt-mountainLet’s be clear: Mike Singletary does not mess around. If there were any question of that, Singletary just buried it under a mountain of dirt.

Singletary trucked in 2,500 tons of dirt to make a hill at the 49ers’ practice facility in Santa Clara. Soon, he will force players to run up it to test their wills. He and Walter Payton used to do it. From the Hot Read blog:

What does Singletary call his creation?

“Pain,’’ he said Saturday.

Not “Mt. Pain,” not “Pain Mountain,” just “Pain.”

Next he’ll create a bench press named “Hurt” and a punching bag filled with concrete called “Die Football Player Die.”

Note: Photo is not actually “Pain,” but how many ways can you build a mountain of dirt?
