We hear Tim Hardaway’s available

mullinIn news that should surprise about as many people as the Warriors won games last season, Chris Mullin is out as the team’s top executive. Golden State will not renew Mullin’s contract when it expires in June and he will be replaced by Larry Riley, who was promoted to general manager. In Mullin’s five seasons at the helm, there were good times (the Dubs’ shocking first-round playoff win over Dallas in 2007 headlines the list) and bad (pretty much the entire 2008-09 season). Given the do-no-wrong capital Mullin accrued during his 13 years as a player in Oakland, the expected decision was met with mixed emotions by Warriors fans. Mullin couldn’t be reached for comment, but TK bets he probably feels some relief.

Golden State can only hope Mullin doesn’t land a job in Toronto and turn his new team into a contender like former A’s utility man Marco Scutaro did. SF Gate
