Bay Area “Superstars” pairings we’d like to see
Tonight was episode dos of “I love the 70s, or at least 70s television that can be continually, cheesily repackaged,” aka “Superstars.” If you missed it or the first episode, there’s still time to get on board with Terrell Owens v. Joanna Krupa and all the other “teams.” In case ESPN isn’t covering it: Tonight Owens and Krupa miraculously returned, destroyed everybody in the sprint event, and ended up staying around for another episode.
There are plenty of pseudo-Bay connections to the show with Brandi Chastain, Jeff Kent and Warren Sapp on the mic. But we want some more Bay Area-ness. So here are some suggested pairings, with commentary by Sapp.
Al Davis and Phyllis Diller
Sapp says: He’s humorless, she’s humor-ful. I’m calling this team “One foot in the sandy grave.”
