Patrick Willis will serve you pasta

PBIII

If you happen to have an extra $5,000 lying around, we can think of no place you’d rather be on August 11 than Pasta Bowl III. Seriously, what more could you ask for than Patrick Willis and the rest of the 49ers serving you spaghetti with special appearances by coach Mike Singletary, Gold Rush Cheerleaders and Sourdough Sam? Nothing, right?

Pasta Bowl II was a roaring success and Pasta Bowl III is guaranteed to be even better with Singletary at the helm to keep everyone in line. We’re envisioning a new take on the age old tune…“On top of spaghetti, all covered with cheese, I lost my poor meatball, when the sweaty chef wheezed. My pasta’s al dente and tastes rather plain, so Coach introduced him to good old Mt. Pain.” We can only hope the guests that wind up with Vernon Davis as one of their waiters don’t get a half-assed effort.

Proceeds from the event will support City Year San Jose/Silicon Valley, the Santa Clara Athletic League, and Fresh Lifelines for Youth.

We’re big followers of the UFL if you couldn’t already tell, which is why we found the news of the league’s rule differences with the NFL fascinating. In addition to a new overtime format, the “Tuck Rule” will be abolished and tasteful celebrations will be permitted in the end zone and in the bench area. Also, the cheerleaders must remove one article of clothing every quarter. Inside the Raiders
