Frank Gore won’t give up any carries to … what’s his name? Latte? Espresso?
As NFL training camp approaches we can’t say we’re excited for lineman battles, players without logos on their helmets, and the overhyped 49ers-Raiders joint practice. But luckily, Frank Gore is here to diss on his backup … wait, did you say conflict? Training camp ho!
In an interview with SFIllustrated magazine, Gore reiterated he doesn’t want to share much of the load this season, and doesn’t seem much bothered by third-round pick Glen Coffee … or even learning the rook’s name.
I feel like the more I’m in the game, the more I touch the ball, the better player I am.
…
The back they’ve got here is a pretty good back. He’s working very hard and he’s learning the offense. I like him. Whenever they feel they want to put him in, I feel that he’ll be all right.
I’m sure that’s exactly how Coffee reacted when he was drafted. “Yeah, the Niners have this back. He’s pretty good I guess. Frank somethingorother.”
