Michael Crabtree has never cried

CrabIn an interview with FanHouse on Wednesday, 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree refuted claims that head coach Mike Singletary reduced him to tears during mini-camp last month. He was so vehement about the subject that he nearly cried.

“Anybody knows me, knows I’ve never cried. I don’t understand where this stuff comes from. Say I’m passionate about football. I don’t cry. I never had. I don’t know who said what but Michael Crabtree does not cry.”

Another Bay Area athlete who talks about himself in the third person? Bay Area Sports Blog likes it. Bay Area Sports Blog also finds it hard to believe that Crabtree has never cried, unless he is, in fact, a Cyborg. Let’s hope he deals with grief by catching touchdowns.

In other Crabtree news, he joins teammate Dre Bly as a member of Team Jordan and will wear Nikes as a rookie. The news prompted sneaker freaks to debate Jordan Brand’s decision to sign the rookie. Some argued he hasn’t proven himself yet. Others said he has huge upside. We’re talking about a shoe brand, right?
