Stanford works it out, Cal picked second
The Stanford football marketing department plans to let you know that Toby Gerhart and Co. “work,” despite the mostly negative response that the team’s slogan generated earlier this summer. Good for them. The advertisement above for tickets to the home opener against San Jose State works for us. Big hits, sweet graphics, and a catchy song. Hooray, work.
The Pac-10 media poll was released yesterday and USC, surprise surprise, was picked to finish first, followed by Cal. Stanford was picked to finish sixth, which would lead Florida or Ohio State fans to jump off a bridge, but somehow qualifies as “respect” for the Cardinal. We’re betting the reaction among the players was slightly more subdued than this.
