Mark Madsen is a domain name pimp
Pacman Jones makes it rain. Mark Madsen makes it name. The Mad Dog was linked to the arrest of 25-year-old Daniel Goncalves for domain name theft after Madsen purchased the domain name P2P.com from Goncalves for $110,000 on eBay in 2006. According to reports, Goncalves hacked into the e-mail account of P2P’s rightful owner to transfer and sell the name, and said owner got pissed and filed a civil suit. The whole story has substantially raised the bar for nerd warfare going forward.
Madsen, who maintains a blog on his personal Web site, owns the Woodside Technology Group, and tweets regularly, is no rookie when it comes to domain name speculation. Tom Ziller’s brilliant investigative work for FanHouse revealed that Madsen has been an active buyer and seller of domain names since 2005 and Domain Name News outed Madsen’s eBay name, thecollins2, an apparent homage to his former twin teammates at Stanford. Ziller reports that Madsen has sold or attempted to sell InternetDating.com, CaliforniaDUILawyers.com, and various Canadian domain names, including menstrualperiods.ca. We hear it’s a growing epidemic in Canada.
So make us an offer we can’t refuse, Mark. Multiple hyphens in domain names are the wave of the future. Really. One of us owns your replica jersey and an 8×10 photo of you purchased on eBay that was signed by fellow big man Tim Young. (When I pointed out the error, the seller refunded my money and let me keep the photo. Maybe the rightful owner of P2P will let you do the same.)

The most important decision in fantasy football isn’t whether you draft Tom Brady or Peyton Manning with your first pick, but what you name your team. “Got Crabs and VD?” Eh? If you’re clever enough, you can enter your name in a contest to win a free draft tool that is sure to talk you down off the ledge from reaching for Hey-Bey in the fifth round. Fantasy Ethos

Don’t call my Raiders pansies. Cable is making this the thinking team-brain drills before brawn drills. We’ll see when this pays off on February 7, 2010!
