C&E: August 16

BASB’s weekly baseball roundup from both sides of the Bay — and an excuse to post a photo of Crazy Crab knocking Stomper off a tricycle.
CRABS UP
Run Prevention: If you can’t score runs, you had darn well better be able to prevent them. The Giants are really bad at the former and really good at the latter.
Best Games: Giants fans hope there are more of these to come in the next 2 months.
Giant F You!: In one of the most exciting games of the season, the Giants power past the Mets in New York.
CRABS DOWN
Falling Flat: Saturday’s win was great, but there’s no disguising the fact that the Giants have lost six of nine.
Trade: The verdict’s still out on the trades that brought Ryan Garko and Freddy Sanchez to SF, but the early returns aren’t great.
Own Up, Fred: Baggs’ most recent notebook has plenty of Ups, but Fred Lewis’ making excuses for a defensive miscue is a definite Down.
ELEPHANTS UP
Green and Yellow Never Looked So Good: Usain Bolt just might be faster than Darrius Heyward-Bey.
UNICORN!!!: A flying unicorn earned the win in Sunday’s walk-off win over the White Sox.
ELEPHANTS DOWN
No Duke: Justin Duchscherer is unavailable to make his first start of the season due to a “non-baseball” issue. Instead, Brett Tomko, who had a sterling 7.94 ERA in three games at Triple-A, will make his A’s debut.
Sub-Par Stars: Introducing the A’s sub-par lineups of the ’90s! Batting cleanup, Geronimooooooooo Berroooooooooooooaaaaaaaa.
A Stadium By Any Other Name is Still as Ugly: Can you hear me now?
