Come for the volleyball, stay for the wine

Former Stanford volleyball star and new mommy Kerri Walsh returned to the Bay Area as part of the AVP Crocs Tour San Francisco Open this weekend. The event, held at Piers 30 and 32, enticed casual beach volleyball fans (is there any other kind?) with free samples of Barefoot wine and scantily clad bronzed women. Walsh and teammate Rachel Wacholder, both of whom only recently returned to the pro circuit after giving birth to sons, advanced to the semifinals with a win over a tandem featuring fellow Stanford grad Ashley Ivy. Walsh and Wacholder lost to Nicole Branagh and Elaine Youngs in the semis. Yes, all three links feature photos and, uh, more detailed stats.
