Frank Gore blows some dudes up in practice
We hope Frank Gore has an alibi for August 5th, because if NFL officials didn’t know any better, they might think it was him who sent Raiders assistant coach Randy Hanson to the hospital with a busted jaw.
The joint practices between the 49ers and Raiders leading up to Saturday’s exhibition game are getting feisty, with Gore leading the charge. Mike Singletary implored his team not to fight — “We’re not good enough for that” – but that didn’t stop Gore from pancaking a couple of Raiders blitzers in a pass protection drill. Gore was so fired up that running backs coach Tom Rathman pulled him out of the drill when he saw that Gore was about to make mincemeat of a rookie linebacker.
Unrelated to Gore’s fiery rage, Raiders wide receiver Chaz Schilens suffered a broken bone in his left foot while making a cut during Tuesday’s morning session and is expected to be out for at least a month.
…Other linkage, not including one kid who’s happy that Brett Favre is coming back…
