The Cowboys’ scoreboard drinking game: Fun for all ages

alex_smith_drunkHere’s an idea Alex Smith and the rest of us can support: Drinking heavily during a preseason football game. 49ers punter Andy Lee has said he won’t be trying to hit the low-hanging scoreboard at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday, but you’ll be hoping he does after eyeing this drinking game.

1. One shot if the broadcast plays the clip of Titan’s punter A.J. Trapasso hitting the scoreboard.

2. One shot if the broadcast plays a clip of Andy Lee hitting the scoreboard with a punt during pre-game warm ups.

3. One shot for every time the broadcast cuts to a shot of Jerry Jones just before an Andy Lee punt

4. One shot for every time Andy Lee punts the ball into the scoreboard.

And so on and so forth etc. Considering Trapasso only hit the scoreboard once, we support upping the ante on No. 4. Just go ahead and finish the whole bottle if Lee does hit it.

The NFL announced its ruling today on the scoreboard. If a team hits the scoreboard it gets a take-backsie: The ball will be dead and the teams will replay the down. So that means the drinking game is in effect all season. Shane Lechler, get pumped.
