Nnamdi Asomugha doesn’t abide by the normal world’s rules
Adam Schefter’s report that Raiders all-pro cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha would miss 2 weeks after suffering a chip fracture in his left wrist during Saturday’s preseason game spread far and wide across the Internet this morning, faster than Pacman Jones could make it snow in Canada. This guy wondered if a Nnamdi-less Raiders secondary against the Chargers was a recipe for a beatdown larger than the one the Saints put on the S&B.
Psssh. The fools shoulda known that Nnamdi, who met with a hand specialist Tuesday, isn’t like the rest of us.
Asomugha expects to wear a soft cast against the Chargers. Incidentally, Jeff Kent suffered a chip fracture in 2002 while washing his truck or whatever, and that worked out okay for him. Kent missed the first few games of the season, but rebounded to hit a career-high 37 home runs. By the transitive property of sports, Asomugha should finish with, oh, 15 interceptions this season. Hooray, chip fractures!
