It’s MadBum time people. Madison Bumgarner, the 20-year old with at least one strikeout of Manny Ramirez to his name, was called up by the Giants to start in place of Tim Lincecum, who has a strained back.
Because we were just thinking, you know who would be an ideal candidate to enter a pressure-filled pennant race and lift the Giants into the postseason? A guy who can’t even legally drink beer yet.
As for Lincecum, hopefully the injury is as small as Bruce Bochy made it seem in today’s press conference. Where he actually said, “We all occasionally feel something in our back.” Yeah, if you’re 54 and a former catcher.
But, as commenter “wfan1″ put it:
“my back would break too if I have to carry the g’s pathetic offense.”
