Raiders love being in front of the na-SHUN
Are you ready for some football? … Is what Ice Cube will ask over and over before repeating “Raider na-SHUN” tonight when the Raiders debut on Monday Night Football.
How do the Raiders perform on Monday Night Football, or in front of the nation in general? Not so well. They’ve lost six straight MNF games by a combined 173-41. Luckily — or not? — local fans will get to watch the game on TV after a last-minute lifting of the blackout. Also fun for Raiders fans: Chucky’s in the booth (hit that link for the source of the Chucky image). (Obviously Gruden’s in New England. It’s a slightly bigger game).
Maybe Jeff Garcia made the right decision by fleeing Oakland before the national-TV bloodbath that is sure to ensue tonight. Tom Cable said this weekend that Garcia asked for his release from the Raiders, not vice versa. Oh, and also, Bruce Gradkowski has won the NFL’s most heated battle, No. 2 Raiders QB. Coulda been you, Jeff, coulda been you.

Since Michael Crabtree isn’t a Niner yet, we can cover him in the links. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Crabtree is really, really willing to sit out the season, but others are getting conflicting reports.
